I recently stayed at Portbahn in Bruichladdich for a weekend getaway. The hotel was spacious, well-equipped, and had a homely feel. It was in a great location, offering spectacular panoramic views of Islay. The communication from the host, Pi, was excellent, and he even offered us a charming alternative accommodation nearby when some work was being done on the Portbahn house. The large rooms and plenty of parking space were also big pluses.
Would recommend this hotel.

The free WiFi was a nice touch, although the terrace seemed a bit unnecessary. The seating area was quite comfortable, I must say.
Oh, how I missed having a clothes dryer! Drying racks are just so much more enjoyable to use, especially for thicker clothing.

The lack of a tumble clothes dryer in the laundry can be inconvenient, especially during longer stays when the provided drying racks may not be sufficient for thicker clothing items.
